The Socialist, The Architect and the Twisted Tower claims top prize in Italy
The Socialist, The Architect and the Twisted Tower has been awarded the best documentary film in the Architecture category at Doc Fest, Festival di Palazzo Venezia, in Italy. This internationally acclaimed festival presents films and documentaries on art, architecture, cinema and theatre.
The Socialist, The Architect and the Twisted Tower is a dramatic, behind-the-scenes-story about the building of Santiago Calatrava's Turning Torso in Malmö. A 190 meter high, twisted residential building which was appointed “worlds best residential building project” at Mipim in Cannes, 2005.
It is a film that shows the often thorny confrontation between dreams and reality: cultural clashes, financial crisis and heavy personal defeats. A hazardous project: the deposits are high, and everyone in it has something to loose. To continue reading, click here
