At the end of 2023, we had the amazing opportunity to show Breaking Social in Brazil!
A special pre-premiere screening for invited guests took place in São Paulo in December. We celebrated the documentary’s storytelling and the remarkable photography by our Brazil-based director of cinematography Janice D’Àvila.
After the screening director Fredrik Gertten took the stage with DOP D’Àvila to answer questions and talk about their shared journey, while filming Breaking Social.
PREMIERE IN CHILE
On January 18th Breaking Social finally had its long awaited premiere in Chile.
Big part of the documentary took place in the country and a lot of our amazing characters from the film made the premiere even more special with their presence.
After the premiere-screening director Fredrik Gertten asked the characters in attendance to join him on stage to talk about the film and their experience. They had the chance to reminisce and share their stories.
Our distributor Market Chile organised many amazing events to make the premiere even more special.
At one event Fredrik Gertten was joined by activist Julieta Martínez and members of Fundación Tremendas for an incredible conversation.
At two other screenings the audience had the amazing opportunity to see dancer Melissa Briones perform a breath-taking live-dance and her about her experience with the documentary.

We found our missing band!
Did you see Breaking Social and have been wondering what band played in the ending scene in the Metro? Us too!
While filming we only went to three stations with the metro. In the last second a band member passed us a note with contact details, but it was lost.
But we finally found our band: Chino y Su Combo. Dedicated fans unveiled the band's identity in a social media contest. Maybe future collaborations will happen, stay tuned on our social media platforms!

We are thrilled to announce that Breaking Social will premiere in Mexico!
Get ready for February 23rd! The mexican cinema premiere will take place at the Cineteca Nacional de México, in Mexico City, together with our collaboration partners Oxfam Mexico and Mandarina Cine.
